A Good Sharp Saw Can Be A Back and Life Saver
You should invest in a decent saw or 2 or 3 after you take care of obtaining a good high quality knife. Why you say? Well,
because as my mom use to say, just because.
No really, you should have a couple of them in your backpack or on your
ATV cargo box. Knives may be the first need, but a good saw can save you a lot of valuable time when time is precious.
If you are scouting for a good place to still hunt and come upon a great trail or water hole, you can make short
work of setting up a quick blind and clearing a shooting lane.
If you are luck enough to get that trophy buck or bull,
a saw can speed up dressing out the animal. If you need to transport the animal back to your vehicle or camp, it can also be
used to cut limbs or saplings strong enough to make a Indian style pole litter to pull with your ATV, horse, or people power.
Knives are just not up to this kind of work.

I remember on several occasions when we were scouting early in the summer when the proper cutting tool saved us a long hard ride back to
camp. One time we had gone about 15 miles on our ATV's and were only about 3 or 4 miles from camp if we could continue the route we had chosen.
We rounded a turn on a mountain trail and there was trouble. A Quakie Aspen tree doing what they do
best. It had been blown down by the wind and the trail was blocked and no way around.
Two people taking turns with our
BowSaw had the trail cleared enough for the ATV's in just a few minutes. With out the saw, it would have taken about
2 hours to retrace our route.
We do recommend that on early scouting trips, that you take a chain saw. They will
really save time and energy. The only problem is that they are bulky, loud, and take up a lot of room on an
ATV. Good BowSaws are easy to carry and are quite.
We sell these in a 4 pack. The price of this pack of
Bow Saws is only $14.00 and shipping with insurance is $12.00 to the Lower 48
States. For a TOTAL OF $26.OO DELIVERED!! That is only $6.50 each delivered
to your door.

We each carry at least two types. Usually we carry a fold up 6 inch with a wood blade in the backpack or fanny pack and
a bowsaw with wood and metal blade in our backpack or ATV cargo box.
On my skinning knife, I have a blade for cutting bone.
We also carry what we call a PoleSaw or "saw on a stick" that extends to several feet. This item is left in camp except
for the time we use it while scouting and setting up our blinds at the beginning of the hunting season.
Again, no type of knives
that we know of can do this type of work in a timely fashion, not even the Rambo style.
All of the companies listed at the bottom of this page will be able to provide you with a large selection of cutting tools.
if you search their camping gear pages. The "saw on a stick" is available at some of these places, but it is difficult to decide on what they call it. They do not usually call it a saw. You may need to get creative to locate one.
